Wrangler Weekend Jamboree
Date: 27 March 2010
to 28 March 2010
Recently the sightings of Jeep Wranglers have become more frequent as the Wrangler and Wrangler Unlimited have proved to be very popular vehicles. Vaughan and his team at Maritime Motors thought it was about time that this group of owners had a chance to get together and have some fun out there. The idea has gained traction and now we are happy to present a weekend experience that is tailored to provide a range of exciting experiences not least being the chance to drive a sand trail at night. This is the initial event forming part of an expanded customer experience program from Maritime Motors but is unique in that it will exclusively cater for Wranglers no other Jeeps and no other 4x4s.

Off Camber Adventures 4X4 Trail
Approximately 40 km from Port Elizabeth, in the heart of the Elandsriver Valley in South Africa, you'll find one of the oldest farms in the area hosting some of the most spectacular off road 4x4 and quad trails in the Eastern Cape.
The 4x4 offroad trail offers both 'ou aape' and newcomers alike a memorable experience. With careful driving one can negotiate the whole 4x4 trail (6 hours), having a lot of fun and without incident. There are various exits which allow one to shorten their drive to suit their needs.
The 2006 flooding changed some of the 4x4 trails to a large degree so for those who have already driven the trails, it should be a thrilling new experience.
While winding through kloof and river, over koppie and mountain and old ox-wagon trails, offroaders can take in the most spectacular indigenous scenery of the Elandsriver Valley you would never expect to find so close to Port Elizabeth.
There are a number of marked 4x4 trails all offering the average to experienced offroad driver challenges from mild to difficult. Alternative (difficult) offroad routes are all marked and make an awesome test between man and machine. Please note that co-driver assistance is needed for these alternative sections.
As for most proper 4x4 trails, rain can make them almost impassable. Please bear this in mind.

Brakkeduine
This trail is all about sand. The trail is extremely popular for the simple reason that it balance the fun and challenge effect with safety. The trail begins with a series of interspersed obstacles that help first timers get the hang of sand driving before the trail opens up into a dune landscape. There is a nice mix of undulating dune trail with technical exercises mixed in as you progress. All technical sections provide escape routes for those unwilling to take on the challenge. The trail includes obstacles named langbult, roller coaster, verneukbult to name a few. One of the things that make Brakkeduine so enjoyable is the spectator vantage points where the full scale of the driving effort can be absorbed. The trail is guaranteed to take the adrenalin hits to new heights.
Brakkeduine has only recently started a night drive option and it is open to a select few operaters
